Guides
Bob Clark
Bob is the owner of the company and will personally do most of the guiding. Bob has lived, worked and played in the area for the last 22 years and has an excellent knowledge both from his work as the Forest Service District Manager and his recreational pursuits. You can expect an upscale successful hunting or fishing trip that will be legally and ethically conducted.
Bob has worked hard to achieve excellent relationships with the farming and ranching community and this is the cornerstone to our success.
Bob is the owner of two well trained black Labrador’s Benny and Frodo who will do the retrieving and flushing jobs if you do not bring your own dogs. This business is the culmination of a life long dream to spend an active retirement doing what Bob loves best-hunting and fishing in the company of fine ladies and gentlemen.
Gordon Milne
Gordon is a recently retired School Board Superintendent and an avid and skilled hunter and fisherman. Gordon brings with him a fine attention to detail that will result in every detail being well taken care of.
Gordon is excellent at tying flies and has a thorough scientific knowledge of fishing and entomology. You will be in the company of a classy retired gentleman in the prime of his life who will help you achieve a wonderful day in the field or on one of the more than 1500 lakes within easy driving distance.

Paul has been guiding and hunting in the area for many years. Paul will provide wise counsel with regard to goose and duck hunting. Paul is well known and friendly with every farmer and rancher in the valley and brings those excellent relationships into play when selecting hunting spots. The high rate of return clients from when he ran his own guiding business speaks to how well Paul conducted the fall goose and duck hunts. He simply wants to continue to visit with some of those life long friends he has made. It is an honor to have him continue in a periodic guiding capacity.
Ray Schultz
Ray is currently an Assistant Deputy Minister with the BC Forest Service but intends to take some of his holidays every year to help out where required. Ray is a skilled fly fisherman with a love for the outdoors and a man of integrity who will bring much to a day in the field or on the lake.
Getting to the hunt site
Wing & Trout Outfitters will provide
trucks and trailers to haul decoys and equipment.
Retrievers
We have dog handlers and two well trained
Black Labrador retrievers. Frodo is seven years old and has retrieved more than
1800 birds while Benny is in her second year of hunting and shows a great
talent for the task. You are also welcome to bring your own trained dogs.

Getting to, and staying in Vanderhoof
Clients are responsible for their own
transportation to and from Vanderhoof. Give us a call when you arrive and we
will make arrangements to meet you the night before your hunt begins.
If you live outside the general area the best
way to get to Wing & Trout Outfitters is to land in Prince George, 97 km to
the east. There you will be able to pick up a rental car and take the scenic
one hour drive along highway 16 to Vanderhoof. When you book your hunt we will
send you a map with precise directions on how to find us.
Meals and accommodations are at the clients
own expense. We are happy to recommend the North Country Inn as a great place
to stay while you are in Vanderhoof.
Dealing with fowl
We are able to make arrangements for
plucking, cleaning or skinning of the birds. Ask us the night before your hunt
begins and we will see that your fowl is dealt with.
What you need to bring
Hunters need to bring two boxes of shells per
day hunting. 12 Gauge is recommended with number 2 steel shot or larger for
ducks and geese and number 6 lead for pheasants. Good warm camouflage clothing
will be best as well as good quality insulated boots.
Before we can confirm your trip there's a few
things you need to know
Prime hunting period
To book your hunt first pick your dates.
Hunting season runs from September 15 to November 7.
When you have a date in mind you can either
give us a call at: 250-570-2520 or Click
Here to send an email message. Let us know when you and your party
would like to join us and how many hunters in total.
A personal experience
We prefer to keep the experience personal so
we hunt in parties of four, with one guide. If your party contains less than
four we are happy to match you up with other like-minded individuals.
Licences and regulations
All hunters must possess a valid BC Hunting
Licence and have a clear understanding of the current Hunting Regulations. BC
Hunting Licences are available across the province in Government Agent offices
as well as numerous retail outlets.
We will make arrangements for non-resident
licences and will get the necessary information at booking time. Residents
should make their own arrangements for licencing.
